Train your wrestlers to stay on the offensive, even when they've been stopped. Instill a chain wrestling mentality in your program!
Chain wrestling is a vital element to wrestling success. It gives your wrestlers the ability to string together a combination of moves once they get stopped that will lead to points.
Chain wrestling is a skill set that does not "just happen," it is a skill set that needs to be trained. For the first time on DVD, five-time NCAA Championship coach John Smith shares his philosophy on chain wrestling and presents drilling ideas so that your wrestlers can put together a sequence of moves to dominate their opponent.
Smith delivers drill ideas for on the feet, defense, top and bottom position, freestyle and more. Smith's demonstration will give you a blueprint on how to develop the sequence of moves you want to teach. He shows how to drill a high crotch to drag to a breakdown position, a chop to wrist control to arm bar, tight waist to getting back to your base to hip heist and more.
You cannot execute your moves successfully every time, so it's imperative to stay on the offense even though you've been stopped. These drills will force your wrestlers to continue to wrestle until they score!

with Rob Eiter, University of Pennsylvania Head Coach former Northwestern University Assistant Wrestling Coach; 2X Olympian, 2X World Cup (Silver medalist)
Successful wrestling is made possible through demanding, consistent warm-up and practice. At the Dan Gable "on-the-mat" Demonstration Clinic (2006), Rob Eiter shared his favorite warm-up drills, and they are now available to the general public on this fantastic DVD! Coach Eiter's motto is "How you drill is how you practice." His teaching foundation is built on the concepts of stance, motion and penetration. He demands that his athletes stay in a stance throughout practice and avoid shortcuts in their warm-up. Everyday Eiter places an emphasis on the penetration step. A favorite drill is the 10, 10 and 10 drill. From a good stance, the attacker executes 10 shots between the legs, 10 to the right, and 10 to the left. The Duck and Drive depends on creating enough space to get your head under your opponent. The Duck and Drag is a similar move that can be used to success. Next, Eiter demonstrates the Clear a Collar Tie. Inside Control is a vital part of wrestling technique and is also shown on this DVD. Other features in the presentation are attacking the leg, the attacking point, the double leg/straight in and the single leg "flow series" drill. Learn to use your warm-up as a way to improve technique and move ever closer to success on the mat!

Cody has compiled a tape with more than 10 combative drills to help your wrestlers become proficient in these four areas. Recovery drills, situational drills, basic technique drills and conditioning drills are featured in this tape. At least half of the practice time of all Cody-led practices consist of running these drills. This tape will give you many new, fun options to train your wrestlers.

"Bigger guys" wrestle differently than "little guys"! In this video, Olympic heavyweight Kerry McCoy covers four areas to help your heavyweight be in better position to control his opponent to wear him down to get in better position to score. McCoy begins with a brief overview of proper positioning, which will provide your wrestler with a good base of knowledge to improve his offense, counter offense and defense. Next, he covers four of the most common tie-ups that heavyweights find themselves using, including his favorite, the "double biceps." McCoy describes how your heavyweight can defend against these ties and how to use them to move his opponent in position for him to score. From tie-ups, McCoy moves to front headlocks and breaks down three different variations for your heavyweight to use. He closes with a couple of quick finishes your wrestler can use that can score a quick fall from the feet. This video is a great tool that will show your heavyweight how to take any position from the feet and create an advantage. Even though this tape is geared towards heavyweights, the fundamentals described can be effectively taught to, and used by, wrestlers in any weight class.
